                                              Abstract


         This dissertation consists of three objectives, namely :- 1. to study the women’s behavior in the Theravada Buddhist scriptures, 2. to study the behavior modification of the women who practice Vipassanā meditation in the contemporary Thai societies. 3 and to present the behavior modification of the women who practice Vipassanā meditation in the contemporary Thai societies. This research is of the mixed methods research, applying both the quantitative and the qualitative approaches.
         From the research, it is found that each of the women was born from her good or bad Kamma. As a result of Kamma that effective to their different behavior. The women’s good behavior in the Theravada Buddhist scriptures are including the merit acquired by giving, by observing the precepts or by mental development. The women’s bad behavior are including the uncontrollable on side of the bodies , the speech, the thoughts and the emotion. In addition, Cariyā can affect behavior as well. Behavior can be considered and selected with proper practice of meditation practices to achieve enlightenment quickly.
        The behavior modification of the key informants women who practice Vipassanā Meditation, the first thing received by us are Sila, Samādhi and Paññā. Those women can well know consider and approve themselves in every daily activities. They can control themselves very well on side of the bodies, the speech, the thoughts and the emotion. All the data are in camphene with the exemplary women are of the bases of the understanding of the practice of the Insight Meditation The  average  of  the bodies, the speech, the thoughts and the emotion before the  practice  is  at  a  middle level, after the practice is at a high level. The significance which used the test of the statistic is different from a t-dependent; it is different in the statistical significance at the level of 0.05.  
          To present on the behavior modification of the women who practice Vipassanā meditation in the contemporary Thai societies. From the research, it is found that the characteristic of process of behavior modification is the                self-development with progress inside the process minds with the help from the state of the environment and the outside influence with is the pushing outside strength which consists of the three steps Such the patterns can build up the mental strength both on the plus and minus patterns to help the people to change their behavior to be better. The main co-operative organs consist of 3 steps;- 1). the step of acknowledging the outside data, 2) The step of thinking, and 3) The step of the practice. The principle and the metrology are the equally continual practice with the mindfulness at the present moment. The process of measuring the result before and after the practiced the Insight Meditation including the process of asking the temperament by Meditation teachers. The readiness of the practice’s must be of the principles and the method of the practice to cause and clear understanding of the Insight Meditation.
