Abstract

Abstract

         The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the role of the temple in promotion of tradition and culture to youth in Lap Lae district, Uttaradit Province 2) to study the comparison of the role of the temple in promotion of tradition and culture to youth in Lap Lae District, Uttaradit Province, 3) to study problem, obstacle and suggestions for the role of the temple in promotion of tradition and culture to youth in Lap Lae District, Uttaradit Province. This research is the mixed method research. The sampling group was the 154 students from Tetsapan sripanommas pittayakorn School. The researcher had the data analysis through frequencies, percentage, and average, standard deviation (S.D) for describing data from variables or personal characteristics. The analysis was also done through t-test for analysis the hypotheses in order to test the average difference between the two groups and f- test by one-way analysis of variance (One-way ANOVA) and data analysis was from interview by using the content analysis technique.

         The findings of this research as follows :

         1. The students had the role of  the  temple  in promotion  of tradition and culture to youth in Lap Lae District, Uttaradit Province in overall, it was at high level with an average (X = 4.21) and classified by aspect and then found that the role of  the temple in promotion of tradition and culture to youth in Lap Lae District, Uttaradit  Province, in overall wat high level. The highest aspect was the right value creation with an average (X = 4.27). The second aspect was the moral and ethics promotion with an average (X = 4.21) and the lowest opinion was the faith creation with an average (4.17).

          2. The findings the comparison to  the role of the temple in promotion of tradition and culture to youth in Lap Lae District, Uttaradit Province, classified by personal data by testing the hypothesis. The questionnaire correspondents who had the difference of gender, age, class, family status indifferently. It rejected the hypothesis. But the finding of opinion comparison of students to the roles of temple to tradition and culture promotion to the youths at Laplae district, Uttaradit province, classified by personal factors by testing the hypothesis. The questionnaire correspondents that participated the activity differently. It is significantly statistic at 0.05 levels. It accepted the hypothesis.

         3. The problem, obstacles that the students lack of understanding about right value and lack of understanding about tradition and culture. Suggestions : should promote the right value promotion, the gratitude to youths, to promote the people to have the mindfulness and to know how to use the brain to solve the problem, and should let the youths participate the activity about tradition and culture. Suggestions about the role of the temple in promotion of tradition and culture to youth in Lap Lae District, Uttaradit Province, found that the students lack of understanding, taste, knowledge, lack of understanding about the culture. Suggestions , should promote the tastes and learn to know about Thai culture, are the temple should promote the gratitude, should teach the knowledge about value , tradition and culture to youths by setting the activity on important religious days for the youths to keep in touch and see the form of tradition and culture more clearly.
