The objectives of this research were : 1) to study the role of temples in the promotion to self-economic sufficiency for the people in Theon district, Lampang province, 2) to study the comparison of the opinions of the role of temples in the promotion to self-economic sufficiency for the people in Theon district, Lampang province, 3) to study the problems , obstacles and suggestions to role of temples in the promotion to self-economic sufficiency for the people in Theon district, Lampang province. This research is the mixed method research. The sampling group was 398 people at Theon district, Lampang province. The researcher had the data analysis through frequencies, percentage, and average, standard deviation (S.D) for describing data from variables or personal characteristics. The analysis was also done through t-test for analysis the hypotheses in order to test the average difference between the two groups and F - test by one-way ANOVA and key informants and the content data analysis and in-depth interview from interview through the content analysis technique.

         1. The opinion of people to the role of temples in the promotion to self-economic sufficiency for the people in Theon district, Lampang province. in five aspects are : 1) moderation  2) reasonableness 3) immunity  4) knowledge  5) ethics, found that the role of temples in the promotion to self-economic sufficiency for the people in Theon district, Lampang province in over all, high level, had an average (X= 3.68, S.D= 0.70).

         2. The findings the comparison to the role of temples in the promotion to self-economic sufficiency for the people in Theon district, Lampang province, classified by personal data that found that the people who had the difference of gender, had the opinion to the role of temples in the promotion to self-economic sufficiency for the people in Theon district, Lampang province indifferently. It rejected the hypothesis. But the people who had the difference of age, education level, career, had the opinion to the role of temples in the promotion to self-economic sufficiency for the people in Theon district, Lampang province differently. It is significantly statistic at 0.05.

         3. The problem, obstacles and guidelines for the role of temples in the promotion to self-economic sufficiency for the people in Theon district, Lampang province, found that the people lack of understanding the principle of sufficiency economy, no community people strength, lack of enough water supply source, lack of development, no stably career promotion, lack of cultural budget, materialism convinces the all children and youths to addict. The role of temple should allocate the budget to learning center according to principle of sufficiency economy as the demonstration center. To have the learning center for capital and capital source for making industry in the community. To distribute the knowledge of technology news to each community. To make the plan with other agencies about life promotion policy according to principle of sufficiency economy along with the plan of district, province and national social and economic plan for getting more budget by having observation and evaluation continuously.
