Abstract

Abstract

                    The objectives of this research are: (1) to study the leadership role of Phratepphariyati (Sa-ard  Khantiko) ,the Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Chiang Mai province, (2) to study the governance leadership role of Phratepphariyati (Sa-ard  Khantiko) ,the Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Chiang Mai province and (3) to analyze the leadership role of Phratepphariyati (Sa-ard  Khantiko) ,the Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Chiang Mai province, affecting on social development and monks organizations  in Chiang Mai province.

                   The qualitative research was used in this study in terms of documentary studying and in-depth interviewing were conducted with fifteen abbots and key informants. Data for this study were obtained from the interviewing forms then analyzing data through content analysis and presented in descriptive research form.

                    It was found that the leadership role of of Phratepphariyati (Sa-ard  Kantiko) ,the Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Chiang Mai province, Shows that he had followed the principles of good Dhamma leadership, including sovereignty principles, four sublime states of mind in the aspect of governing, The four Sangahavatthus was used for education welfare, public welfare and public assistances; the five Mental Powers for education and propagation. Besides, the six States of Conciliation was used for supporting the governance leadership influencing the state of equality among organizations. In the aspect of governance, education and propagation forming the good relationship with subordinates was resulted by using six Direction Principle. The seven Conditions of Welfare Principle in governing resulted in the convenience of monk personnel and work administration. Finally, the Sappurisa Dhamma or  Qualities Principle was used for the integration of knowledge, potentiality and the cleverness to be the professional administration for the benefits of  organizations.

                    The leadership role on the governance of Phratepphariyati (Sa-ard  Khantiko) ,the Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Chiang Mai province,  found that he owns a good  model to all abbots level and the ability to train, giving advice and recommendations in solving problems  for other monks about studying knowledge in aspects not focusing on one side. He had followed respectfully towards therules as the superior commander of the province and also had applied the principles of  three Sovereignty , Four Sublime States of Mind ,the States of Conciliation to be the key principles  in ruling the subordinates in Chiang Mai province peacefully.

                    Furthermore, it was found that Phratepphariyati (Sa-ard  Khantiko),the Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Chiang Mai province, on his six tasks, had owned  the state of good leadership with a good ability in developing monkssociety and organizations in Chiang Mai province, in cluding there are three good leadership  as follows: (1)on the aspect of materials-are distributed equally to other temples under his control,(2)on the state of mind aspect,he had cultivated morals and ethics  to Buddhists  and (3) on the society aspect, he had frequently hold meetings with other monks and supported peoples activities for the success of Buddhism tasks  and he is respected by his subordinates and inspired his followers. One factor that help to support his leadership is the eider monkhood with knowledgeability    Moder standard and as the ecclesiastical provincial of Chiang Mai province.
