Abstract

Abstract 

The aims of this research were: 1) to study the school administration based on Yonisomanasikāra in the basic education schools under the Khon Kaen Primary Education Office Area 1; 2) to compare the school administration mentioned, classified by the samples’ position and work experience; 3) to present the ways to promote and develop the school administration based on the dhamma above. The samples of this research included 182 administrators and 317 teachers (total 501) in the research area. The target group included 9 educational administrators and 12 teachers (total 21). The tools used in this research were a questionnaire and interview form. The statistics used in this study were Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test (Independent Samples), f-test (One-way ANOVA), Scheffe’ method and Descriptive analysis. 

The research results were as follows:

1) The statistic scores of the school administration based on Yonisomanasikāra in the basic education schools under the Khon Kaen Primary Education Office Area 1 in overall and each aspect perspective were at a high level. The highest score can be seen in the aspect of ‘Vibhajjavāda thought administration’, followed by ‘cause consideration administration’, ‘advantage and disadvantage consideration’; the least can be seen in that of ‘noble thought administration’.

2) The comparative scores of the school administration based on Yonisomanasikāra in the basic education schools under the Khon Kaen Primary Education Office Area 1, classified by the samples’ positions in overall and each aspect perspective were different with the statistical significance level at .01. The score of the administrators were more than that of the teachers. Classified by work experience, the scores were different with the statistical significance level at .01.

3) The ways to promote and develop the school administration mentioned were that the school should focus on the development of the curriculum of the institution; teachers and administrators should participate in the development of the curriculum to give a guideline to teaching and learning; educational institutions should prepare local contents with the information and contents in Khon Kaen; executives should encourage the most qualified teachers to teach in the subjects based on their expertise. This will be able to solve problems of students learning. The projects should be organized annually to develop learning media before being experimented, applied and evaluated to improve the quality of teaching materials. There should be a policy to promote teachers in the use of appropriate instructional media.
