Abstract

This research is aimed at studying the beliefs of the Himmapan forest that influences the Lanna Buddhist art. The purpose of the research is three. 1. To study the background and beliefs about the Himmapan forest in Buddhism. 2. To study the style of Buddhist art Lanna. 3. To study the beliefs about the Himmapan forest that influences the Buddhist art of Lanna. By studying and collecting information from the scriptures, scriptures and other books or texts. Including research through the Internet. There is information about the belief of Himmapan forest. As well as inquiries from academics and experts in Buddhist art and other fields. associated To present the origin of the beliefs and influences of the Himmapan forests that affect the creation of Buddhist art in Lanna territory. To be a guideline for further education and conservation practices.

The study was divided into 5 chapters, beginning with a study of the history of the Himmapan forest beliefs from the beginning and the spread of these beliefs into Thailand. Lanna Include the history of the creation of Buddhist art in Lanna. The style of the Buddhist art Lanna. This study was studied in three aspects: painting, sculpture and architecture. To know the beliefs about Himmapan forest influence the creation of Buddhist art in Lanna

The results of the study found that the belief in Himmapan forest. Or baroque animals that have many races and ideas may come together by chance. Or influence each other in the way But the craftsmanship and artistry of the decor is strange. There is evidence from the Egyptian era. The shape of a human head is shaped like animals. Greek people in later generations appear in legendary baroque animals. Greek is the first nation that connects Europe and Asia to travel. There is an exchange of ideas, beliefs in various fields. Baroque beliefs spread to Asia. The country that is the birthplace of Asian art and culture is India. There are baroque animals associated with Thailand such as Garuda, Naga, etc. In Thailand, we believe in the monsters that come with the coming of Buddhism from India. The obvious evidence of the Himmapan creature is the Three Wonders. The Maha Dharma. King Rama number 5 of the Sukhothai Dynasty wrote in 1888.

Lanna land is prosperous both in politics and administration. And in the field of religion is considered the most prosperous. There are priests who are knowledgeable in the scriptures. It can evolve many accepted religious scriptures, such as the Universe, The Punjab, The Punjabi, etc. The mesmerizing belief in the creatures has been passed down to the present.

Behave in morality Coexist in a well-mannered society And to be a guide to the rise of the higher world, or out of the circle of Buddhism, the ultimate goal of Buddhism is nirvana.
